This month we become Peak Costs, a powerful, people-first business built to raise the bar for costs law. We’re bringing together two sector-leading firms with one shared ambition: to transform our industry. It’s been a busy few months to say the very least. This move is more than just a merger. It’s a bold step forward for our people, our clients, and our industry. We’re combining our strengths, expanding our offering, and creating something great together. Here, we’ve taken a look at some of the FAQs about our merger and what the answers mean for you.
Why are we merging?
We’re both ambitious businesses with an amazing set of people working hard to deliver outstanding results for our clients. Ourrespective cultures and attitudes are closely aligned and both management teamshave big aspirations.
Due to the parallels in our cultures and approaches and our similar sizes, bolting one of the businesses onto the other just didn’t make sense. Instead, we decided to jump in together and build a brand-new business as a team. Creating Peak has felt like a fresh start, an opportunity to grow and scale and build something even more special.
What does the merger mean for our clients?
It’s great news for all our clients. You’ll continue to work with the same faces you’re familiar with, and our teams will increase to provide more resources and a variety of expertise. We’ll be able to support you better, move faster, and offer even greater insight into how firms across the industry are managing costs and performance. You’ll continue to receive the same high level of service that you have come to expect.
What will change?
Your existing relationships will continue. Because we are bringing two sets of teams together, there will be changes across the business. This means your current costs lawyer teams are being bolstered by additional specialist practitioners and support staff as we combine our respective expertise. In time, you will have the opportunity to meet different team members, but in reality, your day-to-day experience of working with us will remain the same or be improved.
Are you moving?
Not at the moment. For the time being, our respective locations will stay the same. The former Paramount Legal Costs and KE Costs teams will remain in Carlisle and Liverpool respectively and we have no plans to leave either location. The longer-term plan is to expand into new locations to provide even better support for our clients.
