As of 13 July 2026, Court fees have increased! As per the Government website, the purpose of the increases is to strengthen costs recovery, improve consistency in how fees are charged and maintain fair access to justice for all.

A full list of the changes can be found here. But some of the common ones to look out for are:

·        On the filing of a request for detailed assessment in the Court of Protection from £99 to £102

·        Applications (Consent) where the fee was £123 is now £126

·        Applications where the fee was £313 is now £321

·        The Request for a fixed cost determination has also increased from £398 to £408

·        The Default Costs Certificate fee from £80 to £82

·        Assessment of Costs from £67 to £69
